New Bench for Aeolian Console

Recently we were tasked with recreating a bench from a 1930 Aeolian organ after the original bench failed. The design was faithfully executed to the original appearance with added strength from modern construction. The dramatic grain patterns from the oak on the bench top provide some extra grip to prevent sliding (replacing a masking tape system on the original bench) and contrast nicely with the antique-style graining on the gate leg sections. The organ is of grand scale and one of the last examples of Aeolian's work before merging to become Aeolian-Skinner in 1932.
